Closing Out Our Busy Spring

We closed out our busy spring with a visit from our son and his family.
We call him ” Rain Man, Jr” because it always seems to rain when he visits.
( Of coarse, it has nothing to do with the fact that he always visits in May, during the rainy season!)

The Capt. earned his title as “Rain Man” because it didn’t matter what time of year or what destination, it would always rain when we travelled with him.

Any way, the weather ended up being pretty nice while they were here. The cloud cover kept it from being too hot and the rain held off until the evenings.

This was a very laid back visit for them, as they lead very busy lives, they wanted to just hang out by the pool and relax.

However, you can’t come to Florida without going to the beach at least one day!

The nice thing about living in Central Florida is that you can choose to go to either coast. We usually take them to the Gulf side when they visit, so this year they wanted to visit Daytona Beach on the Atlantic side.

We went to Sun Splash Park located right on Daytona Beach. They have free parking, rest rooms, access ramps to the beach and showers to rinse off in. They also have the computerized jets of water coming up from the ground that kids of all ages can play in.

The Capt. has quite a collection of sand castle building equipment. Whenever we take the kids to the beach, they always have fun building a big castle with grandpa.

The best part of building the castle is destroying it.

This has become a family tradition!

  1. Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could
add to my blog that automatically tweet my
newest twitter updates. I’ve been looking for a plug-in
like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe
you would have some experience with something like this.
Please let me know if you run into anything.
I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.
